Personal Statement

Professor Odusote studied Law (LLB Hons) at Ogun State University. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998. He holds an LLM Degree from the University of Ibadan. He earned a PhD in International Human Rights in 2010 from Nottingham Trent University and Southampton Solent University, United Kingdom. He was appointed as a lecturer at the Public Law Department, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos in 2010. Prior to joining the University of Lagos, he was an Associate Counsel at the Libra Law Office.

He was also formerly a research assistant at Southampton Solent University, UK. He is presently a support lawyer of the Avocats Sans Frontières France, the Team Lead Human Rights Clinic, Human Rights Centre, University of Lagos. He has both frontline and academic experience in Constitutional Law, International Law, Human Rights Law and Advocacy, and Peace Studies. He has extensively published and presented papers in the area of Public Law.

Dr Odusote is a Fellow of the prestigious Makwanyane Institute, Cornell Law School, Cornell University, Ithaca, U.S.A. He is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Member of the International Bar Association, Member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, U.K, Member of the African Constitutional Lawyers Network, and associated with the International Constitutional Network.
