DR. ADEKEMI OLUFUNMILOLAOMOTUBORA

(Senior Lecturer)

Kemi Omotubora holds PhD and LLM (Cyberlaw) from the University of Leeds (UK). She also
holds LLM and LLB from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife. She was called to the Nigerian
Bar in 1999 and gained experience in legal practice before joining the Faculty of Law in 2005.
Her research interests include Law and Emerging Technologies, Data Protection and
Cybersecurity and the development, inclusive and gender aspects of digital technologies. She
teaches Intellectual property law,Cyberlaw, Law of Banking and Negotiable Instruments and
Shipping and Admiralty law. Dr Omotubora is the recipient of a number of academic awards as
an undergraduate student and was the best graduating student in the LLM class of 2001/2002
at Obafemi Awolowo University. She was Nobert Elias Fellow at the ZiF Centre for
Interdisciplinary Research, University of Bielefeld, Germany (2021-2022). She has won many
research grants as principal investigator and co-investigator and presently works on these
projects. She is frequently invited to speak at conferences, seminars and workshops nationally
and internationally and is widely published in national and international journals.
