O. ABUGU, SAN <\/b><\/p><p>Professor J. E. O. Abugu, Ph.D, SAN was educated at Urhobo College, Effurun, Delta State,<\/p><p>Nigeria; Centre for Business Studies, Royal Hill, Greenwich, London; University of Nigeria<\/p><p>Nsukka(1988) and University of Lagos(1991 and 2003). He was called to the Bar in 1989, joined<\/p><p>the Faculty in 1995 and became a professor in 2012. His areas of specialisation are Company<\/p><p>and Securities Law, Industrial Law and Law of Banking and Negotiable<\/p><p>Instruments. Professor Abugu has served the University in several capacities, including as the<\/p><p>Ag.Chairman of the University Legal Research Committee; Coordinator of the Advanced Diploma<\/p><p>in Commercial Law and Practice; and Coordinator of the Interdepartmental LLM Programme .<\/p><p>Outside Nigeria, he was a Rotary International Exchange Ambassador of the State of Arizona,<\/p><p>USA (1999), Fulbright Scholar resident at the Centre for Law and Financial Markets of the<\/p><p>Chicago-Kent College of Law, IIT, Chicago, Illinois (2002); and Training Fellowship at the ILO<\/p><p>Training Centre, Turin, Italy (2007). A member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Nigerian Law<\/p><p>Teachers Association and the Nigerian Institute of Management, Prof Abugu is well published in<\/p><p>national and international journals and is the author of the pioneer text on Nigerian Securities<\/p><p>Law titled: Company Securities: Law and Practice. He was admitted to the Inner Bar as Senior<\/p><p>Advocate of Nigeria in 2020; He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), as well<\/p><p>as the Nigerian Institute of Management.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PROFESSOR JOSEPH E.
