Our History

The Faculty is one of the foundation faculties of the University. Established in 1962, the Faculty has had the privilege of being home to some of Africa’s foremost legal scholars including Dr. Taslim Olawale Elias, who went on to be a judge and President of the International Court of Justice, the first African to attain that  office and Dr. Adolphus Karibi-Whyte (who incidentally was the first Ph.D. graduate of the Faculty) who also went on to be a judge of the Internatioal Court of Justice after his tenure on the bench of the Supreme Court of Nigeria as well as Professor Yemi Osinbajo, GCON who is the current Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  To date, the Faculty has had …..
